Terms of Use

Last updated July 2026

BEAM is a local-first Kanban and focus app that runs entirely in your browser. By using it you agree to this plain-language summary of terms. It isn't legal advice — it just describes how BEAM works and what you can expect.

There is no account and no sign-up. Using the app is your acceptance of these terms; if you don't agree, simply don't use it.

The service

What BEAM is

BEAM stores your boards, cards, and settings on your own device (in your browser). There is no backend, no cloud sync, and no server that holds your data.

The app is provided free of charge and “as is.” Features may change or be removed between versions as the project evolves.

Your responsibilities

Because your data lives only on your device, keeping it safe is up to you. Use the built-in export and folder-backup tools to keep copies — clearing your browser storage or losing the device removes the data.

If you add your own AI API key, you're responsible for that key and any usage costs it incurs with the provider.

No warranty

Limitation of liability

BEAM is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the authors are not liable for any loss of data or any damages arising from your use of the app.

You use BEAM at your own discretion and risk.

Changes & contact

These terms may be updated as BEAM changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
