Nothing leaves your device

The short version
Nothing you write in BEAM ever leaves your device. There is no account, no server, and no tracking.
BEAM is local-first and offline-first. All processing happens in your browser, so there is simply no copy of your data for us — or anyone else — to see.
What is stored
On your device only
Your boards, lists, cards, labels, and focus history are stored in your browser's IndexedDB. A few preferences (theme, custom templates, layout order) live in localStorage.
This data stays on the device you created it on. Clearing your browser storage deletes it permanently, so use export or folder backup to keep copies.
What we don't collect
No accounts, no emails, no analytics, no cookies for tracking, no advertising identifiers.
The app makes no network requests to send your content anywhere. It works fully offline once installed as a PWA.
Optional AI
Bring your own key
AI features are off by default. If you add your own Anthropic API key, only the specific content you ask AI to act on is sent directly from your browser to that provider, under their data-retention policy.
Your key is stored locally in your browser and is never sent to us.
Your control
You can export your entire workspace, back it up to a folder, or reset everything at any time from Settings.
